NFS for now. I am sorry to say this quilt is unavailable until and if surgery can be done to repair areas that dye-stained when laundered. This is not an uncommon issue, especially when working with a slew of fabrics of unknown origin and stability because they are donated, upcycled, recycled, etc. And the stability is at times contingent on other fabrics in proximity that will have the ability to grab on to dye molecules that become suspended in the wash water. It happens. It’s chemistry. And it can happen with all fabrics from the low end to the finest. This is one reason that gentle wash in cool water and air dry is the best practice for quilt owners. But before it gets to you I put the quilts I make through some serious laundering techniques for the very reason that I want to discover such surprises literally first-hand so you won’t. And so it goes. Onward.
